Assalāmu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi wa Barakātuh

We hope this message reaches everyone in the best of physical and spiritual health.

May Allāh Ta’ālā accept the good deeds we have done, overlook our wrongs and enable us to value the remaining precious moments of this blessed month to attract the mercy and forgiveness of Allāh and acquire emancipation from the fire of Jahannum. Āmīn.

With the current covid-19 lockdown restrictions, it is looking more and more likely that we may not have Eid salah in the Masjid/park. Please note that if lockdown continues, Eid Ṣalāh will NOT be necessary for those at home, similar to Jumuʿah Ṣalāh.

Sunnah for the day of Eid:

(1) To rise early.

(2) To clean the teeth with miswāk

(3) To have a masnūn bath.

(4) To dress in one’s best garments.

(5) To use ‘itr (apply fragrance)

(6) Abundantly recite takbir, softly. (Allāhu akbar Allāhu akbar lā ilāha illallāhu wallāhu akbarAllāhu akbar wa lillāhil hamd)

In the current situation:

(A) Put your Musalla out in the direction of Qiblah. Listen to the talk that happens in masjid and the khutbah as if you were in the masjid.

(B) Individually perform 4 rakats with 2 salāms, any time after sunrise until before Zawaal time. These are normal nafl (optional). Not in place of eid.Hence there will be no additional takbīrs.

Please do not follow Imām over the receiver as this will invalidate your salāh.

If, four adult males (including the one leading salah) are lawfully present in a home, whilst abiding by the necessary measures in place by the government, one may perform Eid Salāh with the members of his household. Please note flouting the government directives will deprive us of the blessings we wish to acquire.

Those who are unable to perform Eid salah will InshāAllāh be rewarded by Allāh Ta’ālā based on their intentions and actions of the previous years.
Please continue to comply with the current lockdown measures and take the necessary precautions.

May Allāh Ta’ālā protect us all and shower His mercy upon the Ummah.
Jazākumullāhu Khairan

Broadfield Masjid has Alhamdulillah opened a hardship relief Programme for the elderly and vulnerable in our community.

As we know in this difficult time, isolation and quarantine can cause limited mobility hence shopping for essentials can also be affected. as well as the availability of medicines and food at this time.

therefore, we are looking to enrol volunteers to support and deliver any given required aid. in addition to this, we are also compiling a list of donors of food and money to reserve for the community in case the need arises.

Please contact any of the Broadfield Masjid Trustees or Imams should you wish to enrol or donate.
